Death of a stuntman

It was with great sadness that we learnt of the recent death of stuntman Roy Alon. Roy was a veteran of the James Bond films, having worked on most of the 007 films since 1977’s ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, and was one of the Worlds most prolific stuntmen. His first film was ‘A Bridge Too Far’, and apart from his stuntwork he had also appeared as an actor, including one of the stock car drivers in the 1981 film ‘The Long Good Friday’. His more recent films include ‘Troy’ and ‘The DaVinci Code’ to be released later this year.
I had met up with Roy on the set of the last Bond film, ‘Die Another Day’, on a muddy field in Aldershot, where he was about to become a Korean soldier taking part in the hovercraft chase sequence. You can read an article about this set visit at http://www.bondpix.com/BOND_XX_On_location.htm
