ALASKA CRUISE : 6
Sitka Wildlife Quest
Just to the north of Sitka National Historic Park is the Alaska Raptor Centre, a rescue home for many bald eagles and other birds of prey. Sitka has a plentiful supply of bald eagles in the wild, you can see them flying above, perched in the tree tops or feeding on the sea shore.

Later that afternoon, we embarked on another Wildlife Quest. Heading west, we could see the dormant volcano of Mount Edgecombe in the distance. After changing course to the South, we soon encountered a floating raft of Sea Otters. After slowly cruising around them, we headed off in search of some whales. Our patience was rewarded, and we witnessed some Humpbacks. We only saw two of these mighty animals before we had to head for home but any encounter, however brief, with these giants of the seas is a wonderful experience never to be forgotten
